ABOUT THE SHOW:
EVIL DEAD, THE MUSICAL takes all the elements of the cult classic films The Evil Dead and Evil Dead 2 and combines them for one of the craziest, funniest, and bloodiest theatrical experiences of all time. Five college students go to an abandoned cabin in the woods, and accidentally unleash an evil force that turns them all into demons. It’s all up to Ash (a housewares employee, turned demon-killing hero), and his trusty chainsaw to save the day. Blood flies. Limbs are dismembered. Demons tell bad jokes… and all to music.

Auditions will be held on the Mercer County Community College West Windsor Campus. Check the Kelsey Theatre sign board for a room location on the day of your audition.

AUDITION PREPARATION:
32 bars of music in the style of the show
Bring sheet music for accompaniment- no backing tracks
Short, comedic monologue (no more than 3 minutes!)
Sides will be provided if necessary
Resume (please attach to the Audition form)
Photo (preferred, but not required; please attach to the Audition form)
Please complete an Audition Form prior to the day of your audition.
REHEARSALS:
Exact rehearsal schedule TBD, but expect rehearsals 2-3 times per week (weekends are a possibility.)
ALL CAST MEMBERS MUST BE AVAILABLE
EVERY EVENING FROM October 18th-23rd.
We can accommodate all observed holidays during the season.
SEEKING:
We are actively seeking performers of all races, gender identities, sexual orientations, body types, ages (over 18) and abilities. Seeking 6 adult actors. All roles are Non-Equity, unpaid.
CHARACTER INFORMATION:
Ash: Male. Presenting between 20’s-30’s. A housewares employee who turns into a chainsaw-wielding hero. Vocal range top: B2-B4
Cheryl: Female. Presenting between 20’s-30’s. Ash’s dorky sister who turns into a brash, foul-mouthed demon. Vocal range: G3-Ab5
Annie: Female. Presenting between 20’s-30’s. A brilliant archaeologist who has an unfortunate past with Candarian demons. Vocal range: Ab3-C6.
Linda: Female. Presenting between 20’s-30’s. Ash’s perfect girlfriend who loses her head by the end of the show. Vocal range: G3-E5.
Jake: Male. Presenting anywhere between 20’s-50’s. A guy who they meet in the woods. Vocal range: G2-B4.
Scott: Male. Presenting between 20’s-30’s. Ash’s crude best friend. He’s an a**hole, but the kind of a**hole you love. Vocal range: C3-Bb4.
Shelly: Female. Presenting between 20’s-30’s. A ditzy airhead who is down for a good time. Was picked up in a bar by Scott. Vocal range: Ab3-C6.
Ed: Male. Presenting between 20’s-30’s. Annie’s boyfriend who can’t get a word in. Vocal range: A2-G#4.
Fake Shemp: This role is basically all of the small roles in the show: Knowby, Airport Announcer, the Severed Hand, Linda’s Headless Body, the Evil Force, etc.
