Performances: Public performances dates are December 5-20 (Friday evenings and two matinees on both Saturday and Sunday). NOTE THAT ACTORS MUST BE AVAILABLE FOR ALL PERFORMANCES
Synopsis: Beloved fairy tale of Cinderella has been done many different ways. This is the Original version of Rogers and Hammerstein’s musical. The one done by Leslie Anne Warren and Julie Andrews. The music is lush and memorable. All parts are open and can be cast regardless of ethnicities. It’s make believe so no accents please. Stage standard is preferred. Although these characters are bigger than life, please don’t make them cartoonish.
CHARACTERS
Cinderella: Young beautiful woman. Kind and generous to a fault. Dreamer. Must be able to dance well. Soprano B3-D5
King: 40-60s. Portly man or can be made to look portly. Funny. Caring towards his wife and son. Must be able to move well. Baritone B2-F4
Queen: 40s-60s. Pretty and kind woman. Loves her family intensely and wants to do what is best for them. Sense of humor. Mezzo Soprano B3-D5
Stepmother: 40s-60s. Loves her daughters and doesn’t want them outshined by Cinderella. Pushy. Over the top. Ambitious. Mezzo Soprano D4-D5
Portia (step sister): 20s-30s. Self absorbed. Despite her name not very bright. Jealous of Cinderella. Not unattractive in appearance but in nature. Mezzo Soprano C4-D5
Joy (step sister): 20s-30s. Self absorbed. Despite her name not very joyful. Jealous of Cinderella. Not unattractive in appearance but in nature. Mezzo Soprano C4-D5
Prince Charming: 30s. Gracious and loving person. Handsome with a beautiful voice. Must be able to move well. Baritone C#3-E4
Fairy Godmother: 40s-60s. Funny. Bubbly. Full of excitement, humor and magic. Mezzo Soprano D4-D5
Town Crier (Ensemble): 30s-70s. Must have a big voice. Opens the show with The Prince is giving a ball. Commanding presence. Tenor F3-F#4
Ensemble: All voice types, ages (10-80), shapes and sizes needed. Most have some lines in the show. Must be able to dance or move well. This includes:

Steward
Court Tailor
Townspeople
Footman
Horses
Children
All auditioners should bring a traditional musical theatre song. No rock opera please. Prepare 32 measures or one verse. We may have you read from the script and/or sing from the show. All materials will be provided. Dance call will be at call backs.
