2 FEMALES, 2 MALES, ages approximate, based on appearance. All roles open.
CHARACTER BREAKDOWN:
Maureen Folan:
40ish virgin who has spent 20 years as her mother’s caregiver. Suffering from mental fragility and hopelessness, she longs for love and a life outside of her secluded village.
Mag Folan:
Maureen’s 70ish brittle mother who will do whatever it takes to keep her daughter with her, as she fears being left alone or dumped in a nursing home.
Pato Dooley:
45ish kind-hearted, lonely construction worker who offers Maureen a chance at a new life in America.
Ray Dooley:
20ish younger brother of Pato, a restless slacker with abrasive humor, acts as Pato’s go-between.
NOTES: please be familiar with the story before auditioning. Sides from scenes will be provided. Irish accents will be used sparingly.
