ABOUT THE SHOW
It’s time to write a musical… about writing a musical.
[title of show] is the hilariously honest, fast-paced musical that turns the creative process into the main event. When two struggling writers face a looming submission deadline, they decide to create a show based entirely on their own lives. What follows is a witty, self-aware journey through artistic ambition, self-doubt, friendship, and the chaos of making something out of nothing.
With the help of their friends, the team dives headfirst into the ups and downs of collaboration, questioning what it means to be successful, original, and true to yourself (all while trying to finish the show before time runs out).
Featuring a clever, contemporary score and a book that breaks the fourth wall at every turn, [title of show] became an off-Broadway sensation before making its way to Broadway, earning a devoted following for its sharp humor and heartfelt relatability.
Created for anyone who’s ever had a dream (and no idea how to achieve it), [title of show] is a smart, scrappy, and deeply human theatrical celebration of the creative spirit.

The performance schedule is as follows:
Friday, September 18th at 7:30 PM
Saturday, September 19th at 7:30 PM
Sunday, September 20th at 2:00 PM
Thursday, September 24th at 7:30 PM
Friday, September 25th at 7:30 PM
Saturday, September 26th at 2:00 PM
Strike is mandatory for all cast members and will take place Sunday, September 27th.
If necessary, an additional performance may be scheduled on Sunday, September 27th at 2:00 PM prior to strike.

REHEARSAL SCHEDULE
Rehearsals will begin Monday, July 20 and will generally be four (4) days a week: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 7:00 PM until 10:00 PM.
Additional rehearsals may be added to accommodate conflicts or necessity as the show dates get closer.
Tech rehearsals will begin Monday, September 7th and are mandatory for all cast members.
AUDITIONS & CALLBACKS
Auditions will be held on Tuesday, July 14th and Wednesday, July 15th from 7:00 PM until 10:00 PM. Auditionees may arrive at any time prior to 9:30 PM and will be seen in order of arrival.
Please prepare 16-32 bars of a song in the style of the show. Live accompaniment will be provided, so please come prepared sheet music in the correct key and accurately marked, as well as a recent headshot and resume. A cappella auditions are not allowed.
For those unable to attend in-person, video auditions may be submitted as an alternative by Wednesday, July 15th at 9:30 PM. Submissions can be sent to titleofshow@villagerstheatre.org
In-person attendance at callbacks is required for anyone who submits a video audition.
Villagers Theatre is a non-union, community theatre located in central New Jersey, and we rely on all company members to provide their own reliable transportation.
