SONGS FOR A NEW WORLD Opens Facetime’s New Season, New Space

by Patricia Bradford

Facetime Theatre will present Jason Robert Brown’s SONGS FOR A NEW WORLD April 15-23 as part of the grand opening of its new performance space in Phoenixville’s Franklin Commons.

“Songs” is not your typical musical. Brown said it’s about one moment — about hitting the wall and having to make a choice, or take a stand, or turn around and go back. Known for his dazzling musical scores, the composer has put together a moving collection of powerful songs that examine life, love and the choices we make. Brown is also known for his Tony Award-winning score in “Parade” as well as “Bridges Of Madison County” and “The Last Five Years,” which was made into a movie.

The talented cast consists of Margot Adams, Steve Carrasco, Nina Donze Harper and Brandon Lee. Direction by Katie Romano, Music Direction by Laura Burhans.

Performances are April 15, 16, 21, 22 and 23 at 8 p.m. and April 17 at 3 p.m. at Facetime Theatre, 400 Franklin Ave., Ste. 109, Phoenixville, PA. The theatre is offering special grand opening ticket prices of $15 for adults and $12 for students and seniors.

Not recommended for children under 12.
