Forge Theatre To Present Calendar Girls

by Patricia Bradford

Forge Theatre is proud to present their spring production, Tim Firth’s Calendar Girls. This heartwarming and funny show is based on a true story, and on the movie of the same name.

When Annie’s husband John dies of leukemia, her friends in Yorkshire’ Women’s Institute come up with a creative way to raise money to honor the memory of a loved one: by posing nude for a calendar! These small-town women are not prepared for the stir that their actions will cause- or the strain it will put on their friendships. As they all struggle to deal with their newfound fame, they eventually come to remember what truly matters in life: love and friendship.

Calendar Girls runs February 28th, 29th, March 6th, 7th, 8th, 13th, 14th, and 15th. Friday and Saturday performances begin at 8 pm, with Sunday matinees beginning at 2 pm. Tickets are $16.00 for adults and are available at www.forgetheatre.org or by calling 610-935-1920. Located at 241 1st Avenue, Forge Theatre provides high-quality, year-round live theatrical entertainment in the heart of Phoenixville.
