Dawn Varava is a conservatory -‐trained musician who holds a BM in Applied Music, and a BME in Music Education. In 2012, she retired from a successful teaching career to pursue an acting career full time.

Recently, Dawn understudied the role of “Dottie” in The Walnut Street Theatre’s production of GOOD PEOPLE by David Lindsay-‐Abaire, directed by Bernard Havard.

She appeared as a character actress in the 2013 Philadelphia Flower Show’s “Best in Show” winning exhibit, JACK, by Bill Schaffer Designs, based upon the East End of London in the late 1800’s.

Earlier this year, Dawn played the role of Mary Pat Nevel (principal) in THE PRIEST, produced by Columbia Graduate Film students, directed by Benjamin Kegan and to be released later this year.

Dawn studies privately with Philadelphia-based actor and director, Meghan Malloy (nee Heimbecker), and has recently completed classes at the Philadelphia Acting Studio under Karen Vicks, and advanced improvisation studies with Sharon Geller.
