Bio:
Ruth K Brown received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Arts from Madonna University in Michigan. Ruth is and always will be a lifelong advocate of the advantages and benefits of community based theatre. Ruth is a respected and critically acclaimed actress in her home state of Michigan and once she moved to Delaware in 1995, she began to receive acclaim here also. Ruth now lives in Maryland and she continues to experience the unique East Coast pleasure of performing in multiple states.

Ruth has received both state and regional performance awards for her 2003 short play festival work in “The Most Massive Woman Wins” and again in 2004 for “The Art of Self Defense”. In 2008 and 2009 Ruth stretched her expertise into directing the critically acclaimed Delaware productions of “Ghosts” by Henrik Ibsen and “Ah! Wilderness” by Eugene O’Neill. Ruth’s directing recognition includes her winning the David Matthews Award for Excellence in Direction for her production of “Fin & Euba” performed at PACTFest2009 in Pennsylvania. This production went on to perform at the Liverpool International Theatre Festival held in Nova Scotia, Canada. The production there brought Ruth another Best Director award on the international level.

When not on stage Ruth is always working behind the scenes to support the beauty, power and timelessness of theatre around her. She is currently the Treasurer of the Delaware Theater Association (DTA) and is Secretary of the Eastern States Theater Association (ESTA).
