MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET is an actor-musician production.
There is no pit orchestra. With the exception of Sam Pillips and Dyanne, all performers play their instruments live onstage throughout the show.
Please prepare two songs and be ready to sing and play at the same time on your own instrument.
Do not prepare a specific song from the show. Instead, choose material appropriate to the period and genre:
1950s rock and roll, rockabilly, country, blues, or gospel. An Accompanist will not be provided for instrumentalist roles.
Please bring your own guitar. Pianos are available on site.
If you would like to be considered for more than one role, prepare one song on guitar and one on piano.
If we only hear you on one instrument, we can only consider you for roles requiring that instrument.
The ability to read music is a strong plus.
Those auditioning for Sam Phillips should prepare a monologue and a short vocal selection. Those auditioning for Dyanne should prepare 16 to 32 bars in period style; an accompanist will be provided for these roles.
There will not be a dance call for this production. Cold readings may be held at the directors discretion.
Please be prepared to list any weeknight or weekend conflicts within the rehearsal calendar (to be provided at the time of the audition)
This is an open call for non-equity performers. Stipend to be paid. Actors must be 18+ to audition for this show. Callbacks will be held in week(s) following auditions on an as needed basis.
