SYNOPSIS:
J.M. Barrie, a struggling playwright, encounters a widowed mother, Sylvia Llewelyn Davies and her four sons in Kensington Park. As Barrie befriends the family, he is inspired by their adventures, particularly Peter, who is reluctant to play due to his grief. Barrie helps him to learn to play again and becomes inspired to create a new art form: children’s theatre. But who will pay to see a play about children? Who will play these characters? And how will they make Peter Pan fly?

Performance Dates:​​ December 4th, 5th (8pm) 6th (3pm) December 10th, 11th, 12th (3pm and 8pm) 13th (3pm) December 17th (8pm) 18th (3pm and 8pm) and 19th (8pm)

*Please hold Sunday, December 20th, 3pm in the event that a performance needs to be rescheduled/added.*

Auditions will be held at Haddonfield Plays and Players on: Sunday, August 9th (slots available between 12-5pm) and Monday, August 10th (slots available between 6pm-10pm). Please prepare a 32 bar cut of a song in the style of the show and be prepared to dance.

Callbacks will be by invitation only on Wednesday, August 12th.

Rehearsals will begin early September and take place primarily on Sunday (6pm – 10pm), Monday and Wednesday evenings (7pm – 10pm) with additional days added throughout the rehearsal process. Tech Week begins 11/29 – 12/4

A full rehearsal schedule will be provided at callbacks so that all conflicts can be noted.

Male, 30s–40s. A successful Scottish playwright with a vivid imagination and childlike spirit. Creative, charming, and compassionate.

Male, 50s+. A powerful theatrical producer who doubles as Hook, the embodiment of Barrie’s fears and darker side.

Sylvia Llewelyn Davies
Female, 20s–30s. A widowed mother of four boys. Warm, intelligent, playful, and courageous.

Seeking strong young singers and actors ages 8–14
George (12–14): The oldest and most responsible brother.
Jack (10–12): Mischievous, adventurous, and full of energy.
Peter (8–10): Thoughtful and imaginative; the emotional heart of the family. The “Peter” in Peter Pan.
Michael (6–8): The youngest; playful, fearless, and confident.

Company/Ensemble
A mix of performers to round out both Neverland and Kensington Park

All roles are unpaid positions. Haddonfield Plays and Players is a community, not for profit theater.
