EMPTY NIGHT, an award-winning play by Abhisek Bhattacharya, tells the story of two unlikely survivors: a desperate father who turns to theft while trying to provide for his children, and a wounded female Bengal tiger who enters a human village searching for food for her cubs.
When their paths cross, the play explores survival, sacrifice, compassion, and the shrinking space between humans and the natural world. Against the backdrop of disappearing forests and threatened habitats, EMPTY NIGHT asks what it means to survive—and what it means to be human.
The production recently received the Producer’s Pick Award at Z Fringe 2026 (Virginia) and is being presented by Hattimatim-Team as part of its national Fringe tour.
