Hedgerow Theatre Company opens its 2026-27 season with Stephen King’s MISERY, a chilling psychological thriller about obsession, fame, and survival adapted to the stage by William Goldman. After a devastating car accident leaves novelist Paul Sheldon stranded in a remote cabin, he awakens under the care of Annie Wilkes, his self-proclaimed “number one fan,” whose devotion quickly spirals into something far more dangerous. Featuring Emma Gibson (Beginners) and Bruce Graham (The Philly Fan) in a riveting two-person showdown, the production traps audiences inside a tense, unpredictable battle of wills where admiration turns terrifying. Suspenseful and darkly entertaining, MISERY launches the new season with an electrifying theatrical experience that will keep audiences on edge until the very last moment.
MISERY is recommended for audiences aged 16 or older for adult language and themes, physical and psychological violence, weaponry, and gruesome effects. The production has an estimated runtime of 95 minutes with no intermission.
