SWEENEY TODD: THE DEMON BARBER OF FLEET STREET

An infamous tale, Sweeney Todd, an unjustly exiled barber, returns to nineteenth century London, seeking vengeance against the lecherous judge who framed him and ravaged his young wife. The road to revenge leads Todd to Mrs. Lovett, a resourceful proprietress of a failing pie shop, above which, he opens a new barber practice. Mrs. Lovett’s luck sharply shifts when Todd’s thirst for blood inspires the integration of an ingredient into her meat pies that has the people of London lining up… and the carnage has only just begun!

The first round of auditions will be done by video submission only. Please provide a link to a video with a 32-bar cut of a song in the style of the show. All videos must be uploaded by 11:59PM on Sunday, May 10th.

Callbacks will be by invitation only on Sunday, May 31st @5:00 PM.

Please hold Sunday, October 11th in the event that a performance needs to be rescheduled or added for any reason.

Vocal rehearsals will begin the week of July 20th. Staging will begin the week of August 2nd Rehearsals will primarily be held on Sundays (6-10pm), Tuesdays, and Thursdays (7pm-10pm) with some additional dates added throughout the rehearsal process. A full rehearsal schedule will be provided at callbacks so that all conflicts can be noted.

Sweeney Todd
A wrongfully imprisoned barber seeking to right the wrongs committed against him. He is Johanna’s father, singularly focused on taking bloody revenge. Our story’s tormented protagonist.
