In Glenn Alan’s comedic drama, Max’s barbershop is a staple in a small country town. Within the walls of the barbershop, Black men can exist with one another in relative comfort. Within the walls of the barbershop, romantic plans are discussed, dreams are born, and bets are made. That is until Ima Jean, one of the town’s most popular women, passes away. Rumors begin to rise in the barbershop about her abandoned son, Choice, who has escaped the law to come to town.
