The director is looking for 9 actors who can play multiple parts and understand the live-radio format to help bring this beloved holiday classic to the stage. Ability to do various voices are a plus!
Readings will come from scripts provided at the auditions.
SHOW DATES: November 27 & 28 at 7pm and 29 at 2pm.
All roles are open, with the exception of SUSAN WALKER, which has been cast.
Actors cast in the following roles will play only these parts:
Kris Kringle – The central figure, an elderly man who claims to be the real Santa Claus. He is hired to play Santa at Macy’s and becomes a beloved figure, inspiring belief in the magic of Christmas while facing skepticism about his sanity.
Doris Walker – A practical, divorced mother who works as the director of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. She is initially skeptical of Kris but gradually comes to appreciate his influence on her daughter.
Fred Gailey – Doris’s neighbor and a lawyer who becomes involved in Kris’s legal case to prove that he is the real Santa Claus. He also develops a romantic interest in Doris.
Actors cast in the following roles will each play multiple parts:
Announcer – The radio station announcer who introduces the radio play, commercials, and more.
Dr. Pierce – A physician at Brooks Home who is warm and caring.
Judge Harper – The judge who presides over Kris’s court case and is running for reelection.
Charley – Judge Harper’s campaign manager.
R.H. Macy – The owner of Macy’s.
Gimbel – The owner of Gimbels, Macy’s competing department store.
Shellhammer – The head of the toy department at Macy’s and Kris Kringle’s direct boss. He is an anxious, image-conscious middle manager.
Sawyer – Macy’s store psychologist, who declares Kris insane and has him committed to Bellevue. He is cowardly and self-serving.
Mara – The district attorney trying the case against Kris.
