MARRYING GEORGE CLOONEY: CONFESSIONS FROM A MIDLIFE CRISIS is a sharp-witted, satirical play written by Amy Ferris and adapted from her best-selling memoir. Raw, humorous, and deeply relatable, the play explores the realities of aging, menopause, insomnia, family trauma, and self-discovery.
The play follows a menopausal woman who is wide awake at 3 a.m., googling old boyfriends, sharing prescription drugs, sharing stories – and fantasies of what life would be like if she had married George Clooney. All that in addition to confronting the emotional weight of caring for a mother living with dementia, an estranged brother and a frisky hubby.
Focused on “women of a certain age,” MARRYING GEORGE CLOONEY serves as a rallying cry for women to embrace their inner turmoil, navigate life’s transitions with humor and honesty, and ultimately fall in love with themselves.
