Steel River Playhouse presents the American Classic: THE GLASS MENAGERIE

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Pottstown, PA — March 29, 2016, Steel River Playhouse presents THE GLASS MENAGERIE by Tennessee Williams, opening on Friday April 8 at 8:00 pm and runs through Sunday, April 17 with nine performances to choose from.

Steel River Playhouse is thrilled to present this next offering in our American Classics Series, THE GLASS MENAGERIE is a sensitive and touching autobiographical drama which launched the career of American master dramatist, Tennessee Williams. Williams takes us inside the world of a garrulous divorcee clinging to visions of the old South, her painfully shy daughter, her restless son and a Gentleman Caller whose visit is the catalyst for all of their destinies.

After THE GLASS MENAGERIE, Tennessee Williams went on to become not only one of America’s major mid-20th century playwrights, but also one of the most celebrated playwrights of all time. His plays are not only among the most produced in the world, but they also influenced an entire generation of contemporary American playwrights.

THE GLASS MENAGERIE is directed by Stacey Michaud, a private voice and group acting instructor at Steel River Playhouse. Cast members include John DiFerdinando (Tom Wingfield), Marianne Green (Amanda Wingfield), Danielle Owen (Laura Wingfield), Matt Zarley (The Gentleman Caller), and Hannah Paczkowski (Understudy for Laura).

Dates: Friday April 8 – 17, 2016
Times: Fridays/Saturdays,8:00 pm, Saturdays/Sundays, 2:00 pm and Thursday, April 14 at 7:30 pm.

Tickets are $15 to $22 and available online at www.steelriver.org. Online ticket ordering allows audience members to select their seat. Groups of ten or more are eligible for a discount.
