Brazzo’s Downtown Italian Restaurant

by Walter Bender

Welcome to the first edition of DINING OUT. How many times have you all had someone plan to see your show and ask you “Where is a good place for dinner before the show”, or “Where can we get a drink in the area?” We at STAGE are going to try to answer those questions for you all, with your help. Submit suggestions to us here at stagepartners.org and we will try to feature your favorite place for before (or after) the show.

One of my favorite places to go for a good Italian meal in the Harleysville area is Brazzo’s Downtown Italian Restaurant. Owner/Executive Chef Maurizzio Brazzo has a beautiful restaurant, decorated in a modern yet classic Italian motif. There are two dining rooms; the main room is brightly lit with rectangular tables for 2, 4, or larger groups. The second room is similarly laid out, but gives patrons a more intimate feel. The wait staff is friendly and bustles about quickly serving patrons, yet giving each table the time and service it deserves.

Brazzo's is offering a special Valentine menu February 12 - 14!

The menu at Brazzo’s combines classic Italian dishes with Chef Maurizzio’s modern take on dishes. If you want Pasta Bolognese, Veal (or Chicken) Parmigiana (a personal favorite of mine!), or Cioppino, they’re all on the menu with many other classic dishes. But, for the more adventurous palate, there are things like Pollo con Broccoli & Farfalle and the daily specials. Many of the dishes come with a choice of pasta, or if you don’t want the carbs, you can have a side of their delicious Spinach Aglio e Olio.

If you’re in the mood for something less exotic, they also have pizza (classics as well as a terrific Salmon Flatbread and other modern combinations), Calzone, Bolis and sandwiches. There are soups and salads for the calorie conscious, and a generous children’s menu for the younger patrons. And make sure you save room for dessert…I’m partial to the Crème Brulee Cheese Cake, but I wouldn’t refuse any of the offerings!

Brazzo’s is a BYOB restaurant but there is no corkage fee, so bring your favorite wine and relax before the show. You can view the menu, make reservations, order takeout online or check the hours of operation at www.brazzo.net.

Patrons looking for something to do this Valentine’s Day weekend…Brazzo’s has a Valentine’s Day weekend special planned. There are Valentine’s specials all weekend in addition to the regular menu, as well as a special Sunday Brunch and a VERY special menu on Valentine’s Day.
