by Patricia Bradford October 23, 2026

MORRISTOWN, N.J. – Pioneer Productions is delighted to announce its upcoming production of RUMORS, Neil Simon’s celebrated comedy of confusion, deception, and nonstop laughs. Known for its rapid-fire dialogue and relentless comic momentum, RUMORS is widely regarded as one of Simon’s most ambitious and brilliantly constructed farces. The production will run November 6–15, 2026 at The Stage at Fellowship Hall, located inside the Morristown United Methodist Church at 50 South Park Place in Morristown.

When affluent deputy mayor Charley Brock and his wife Myra host an elegant anniversary celebration, the evening quickly descends into chaos. The first guests to arrive discover a shocking scene: Charley has suffered a gunshot wound to the ear, Myra is nowhere to be found, and the household staff has disappeared. As more guests arrive and rumors begin to spread, a desperate effort to conceal the truth leads to a cascade of outrageous coverups and escalating misunderstandings. The result is a fast-paced comedy packed with wit, physical humor, and the signature brilliance that made Neil Simon one of America’s most beloved playwrights.

The production is directed by Daniel Peter Vissers and co-produced by Shanna Levine-Phelps and Tom Olori. The cast includes Miriam Salerno (Chris Gorman), Joel Frank (Ken Gorman), Bill Barry (Lenny Ganz), Amy Boardman (Claire Ganz), Stephen Federbusch (Ernie Cusack), Sue Mandzik Davis (Cookie Cusack), Jon Beeler (Glenn Cooper), Christiane Lange (Cassie Cooper), Bradford Harris Harlan (Officer Welsh), and Speedwell Amaechi (Officer Pudney)

All of your theatre news in one place!

Founded by Holley Webster in 1976, STAGE Magazine began as a well-loved, paper-based newsletter that was often found in the lobbies of Philadelphia area theatres and the hands of audition-hungry actors.

Ms. Webster passed STAGE along to former Managing Editor, Ethel Guy, who kept the paper version of the magazine going strong. In 2009, Ethel graciously handed over the reins to current Digital Content Manager, Patricia Bradford, who successfully brought the publication online and eventually phased out the paper format to better conform to today's fast-paced Digital Age.

STAGE Magazine is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, which continues to serve theatres in the Philadelphia region while also expanding into other states.
