ALMOST, MAINE by John Cariani is a charming, heartfelt, and irresistibly whimsical comedy that explores love in all its surprising and transformative forms. Set in a remote, snow-dusted town beneath the dancing northern lights, the play unfolds through eleven loosely connected vignettes, each capturing ordinary people in extraordinary moments of connection. Relationships begin, end, and change beyond recognition as strangers become friends, friends become lovers, lovers become strangers, and hearts are broken, mended, and opened again. Populated by characters who are humorous, plain-spoken, thoughtful, and sincere, each tale centers on a compelling couple and carries its own touch of magic. ALMOST, MAINE captures the wonder and vulnerability of human connection, reminding us that love can be at once wonderfully ordinary and utterly extraordinary.
