SYNOPSIS:
Johnny, Tunny and Will struggle to find meaning in a post-9/11 world. When the three disgruntled men flee the constraints of their hometown for the thrills of city life, their paths quickly diverge: Tunny enters the armed forces, Will is called back home to attend to familial responsibilities, and Johnny’s attention becomes divided by a seductive love interest and a hazardous new friendship. An energy-fueled rock opera, American Idiot, features little dialogue and instead relies on the lyrics from Green Day’s groundbreaking album to execute the story line.

All auditions, rehearsals and performances are held at our home theater, The Harriet, located at 16021 Industrial Drive Bay 7, Gaithersburg, MD 20877.
AUDITION DETAILS:
If you’re unable to attend the in-person auditions, you may submit a video audition by 12pm the day of the audition. When submitting, please use the subject line “UPSTAGE 26 SUBMISSION” Be sure to provide an open (shareable) link that all production members can access, or attach the video file directly to your email. Please also include in the body of the email what show(s) you are submitting for.
An email will be sent on the day of auditions with instructions on how to register for an audition slot to all who’ve completed the online registration.
Please prepare a full song from any Broadway Rock Musical. Everyone will initially be asked to sing 16–32 bars, and we may request to hear your full selection afterward. Choose a piece that showcases both your vocal range and acting ability.
Bring sheet music in the correct key, clearly marked with start and end points, any cuts, and all tempo or dynamic changes.
Please also bring a current headshot and resume.
An accompanist will be provided. A cappella auditions will not be accepted.
Callbacks will be by invitation only.
Please note all roles are unpaid/volunteer.
