Fulton Theatre Local Youth Auditions for ANNIE & RAGTIME
The Fulton Theatre will hold in person auditions seeking Young Girls (Ages 6 – 15) for our production of ANNIE. We are also seeking Young Boys (Ages 9 – 12) for the role of The Little Boy/Edgar and Young Girls (Ages 8 – 11) for the role of The Little Girl for RAGTIME.
***PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE NOTICE as questions you may have may be answered within this notice. ***
***A specific rehearsal schedule for these shows will not be available until the weeks prior to first rehearsals. If your child is cast in either or both of these shows, they will need to be available for rehearsal and you will need to clear this with your child’s school. If cast, the theatre will provide paperwork to present to your child’s school to release them for rehearsals and matinee performances.***
CHARACTER DESCRIPTIONS
ANNIE – (Age 10-13/must appear to be age 11, All Ethnicities) Energetic and optimistic orphan who never gives up hope that better days are ahead. Voice Range: Low A to High F
ORPHANS – (Girls ages 6-15, All Ethnicities) that have personality that can sing and move well with personality.
THE LITTLE BOY/EDGAR – (9-12 yrs, White) Mother and Father’s son, precocious, observant, and always curious. Tenor.
THE LITTLE GIRL – (Ages 8-11, White/ Eastern European) Tateh’s daughter. She is quiet and shy. Soprano.
RAGTIME TEENS – (Ages 16 – 19, All Ethnicities) Should sing and move/dance well to be part of the adult Ragtime ensemble.
* If your child would like to audition for both roles in ANNIE and RAGTIME, you will just check both of those boxes on her audition form on the day of the audition and casting will know we should consider her for both. She only needs to prepare the ANNIE material if wanting to be considered for both.
* If wanting to be considered ONLY for RAGTIME, all your child needs to do is be prepared to sing a 16-32 bar song cut of their own song choice.
* Please have a picture and resume (if your child has one) on the day of the audition. Resume should include any theatre, dance, and singing experience as well as their height and age.

WHAT TO PREPARE
ANNIE
If wishing to be considered for the role of Annie, please prepare the materials in the sign-up link. This includes two (2) song cuts of “Tomorrow” & “Maybe” as well as two (2) short scenes. No need to be off book for these, but please be familiar with the material. There are accompaniment tracks for the songs, but when your child auditions in person, it will be played by a live pianist in the room.
ORPHANS
If wishing to be considered for an orphan, please prepare the materials in the sign-up link. This includes a song cut of “It’s a Hard Knock Life” as well as a short scene with all of the orphan girls. Please select on or two roles you identify with and when we are auditioning you can let us know the role you would like to read. No need to be off book for these, but please be familiar with the material. There are accompaniment tracks for the songs, but when your child auditions in person, it will be played by a live pianist in the room.
RAGTIME (YOUNG GIRLS)
If wishing to be considered for the role of “The Little Girl” in Ragtime, please prepare a 16 – 32 bar cut of a song of your choice. Please have sheet music for the accompanist in the room.
RAGTIME (YOUNG BOYS)
If wishing to be considered to the role of “The Little Boy/Edgar” in Ragtime, please prepare your own (16-32 bar) song cut of your choice as well as the materials in the sign-up link. This includes one a short monologue and scene. No need to be off book for these, but please be familiar with the material. Please have sheet music for the accompanist in the room.
RAGTIME TEENS
Local Teens – (Ages 16 – 19, All Ethnicities) that are strong singers who move/dance well to be part of the adult Ragtime ensemble. If wishing to be considered for the teen ensemble of Ragtime, please send a video clip singing a 16-32 bar cut of a song in the style of the show as well as any video you have of your movement and dance. If selected, you will be asked to attend an in-person callback on June 23rd from 1:30PM – 3:30PM at the Fulton Theatre to sing and be taught a short movement/dance.
When submitting your video please also include your headshot and resume that also includes your age.
Ragtime begins rehearsals on September 3, 2026 and runs through October18, 2026 on our mainstage. These are non-paid positions.

ALL AUDITION MATERIALS INCLUDING SHEET MUSIC AND MUSIC TRACKS ARE IN THE SIGN UP LINK UNDER “RELATED FILES.” YOUR CHILD CAN USE THESE TO PRACTICE FOR THE AUDITION, BUT ON THE DAY OF THE IN PERSON AUDITION THERE WILL BE A LIVE ACCOMPANIST TO PLAY THE MUSIC IN THE AUDITION ROOM. PLEASE DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD IN THE ROOM THINKING THEY WILL BE SINGING TO THE TRACK SUPPLIED HERE.
When signing up please sign up with your child’s name and then add yours in the “First & Last Name” section above your email when signing up.
WHAT IF I CAN’T MAKE THE IN PERSON AUDITIONS?
***If your child is unavailable to audition in person, you may send a video audition to casting@thefulton.org. These videos should include your child singing either a short 16-32 bar cut of their own song choice, or use the tracks for one of the Annie or Ragtime Songs attached to this notice. Please also send their headshot and resume along with the video submission as well as letting casting know what show/roles they are interested in being considered for. These should be emailed no later than 6/17/26.***
