The Road Company welcomes audiences to join them for another wonderful addition to their 2016 season, ALTAR BOYZ. Altar Boyz is the tongue-in-cheek musical about a Christian boy band with a goal to cleanse souls and lift the spirits of audience members.
It’s the final show of the ALTAR BOYZ’ “Raise the Praise” tour and the venue is The Grand Theatre in Williamstown, New Jersey. Because of the “Soul Searcher DX-12”, a machine that calculates the number of burdened souls, the Altar Boyz make a promise to lift all of their burdens by the end of the concert. The ALTAR BOYZ consists of five members: Mark, the leader, Matt, his second-in-command, Luke, who is not the brightest, Juan, a charismatic Latino, and Abraham, a Jewish boy who was just there when God told them to form the group. Through song and dance, these five young men will learn just how important their friendship is during their final show.
This hilarious musical comedy played over 2,000 performances Off-Broadway. The Road Company hopes audiences will join them for a night of satirical boy band humor. ALTAR BOYZ is directed by Ed Doyle.
