NOISES OFF Opens at Footlighters Theater in Berwyn on Friday, June 3rd

Called the funniest farce ever written, NOISES OFF presents a manic menagerie of itinerant actors. The award winning comedy takes its title from the theatrical stage direction indicating sounds coming from offstage (spoiler alert!). Each of the three acts contains a performance of the first act of a “play within a play” called “Nothing On” As the show opens, the Opening Night performance is just hours away, and as the cast stumbles through their final dress rehearsal, things couldn’t be going any worse. With lines forgotten, love triangles unraveling and sardines flying everywhere, it’s complete pandemonium… and we haven’t even reached intermission! Can the cast pull their act together on the stage even if they can’t behind the scenes?

In Act One the cast is haplessly unready. During Act Two, go backstage where the actors are afloat in offstage pranks and onstage tomfoolery. By Act Three friction is palpable, mishaps mounting and ad-libbing rampant. Come prepared to laugh and laugh!

“If laughter is the best medicine, this flawless show is capable of curing double pneumonia.” —Terry Teachout, The Wall Street Journal
