THE BOOK CLUB PLAY by Karen Zacarías is a comedy about a group of friends whose book club is chosen to be the subject of a documentary. Having what you say “off the cuff” during a book club discussion brings hilarious and chaotic revelations. As they continue their recorded meetings intimate discussions are captured on film, secrets are exposed, and group dynamics are upended by a new member. The play explores themes of literature, friendship, and self-discovery through witty dialogue and references to popular books.
Play readings are free, but donations (suggested: $5) are gratefully accepted! We will have popcorn, coffee and soda available for purchase as well.
