————————————————————————
KHAN!!! The Musical! is a gut-bustingly funny parody based on Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan and Star Trek: The Next Generation with an entirely original score. It’s fun for Trekkies, Broadway fans and “normies” alike, and you don’t have to know anything about Star Trek to enjoy it!
THE CONCEPT: No Wait, the “KHAN”-cept. In 2366, Data, the android, presents his musical comedy version of The Wrath of Khan with a cast of virtual actors on the Holodeck! A campy show-within-a-show ensues where the bloodthirsty Khan vows revenge on a washed up James T. Kirk and Data–portraying multiple roles–learns a thing or two about life along the way.

ALL ROLES ARE AVAILABLE
The BACCP is committed to inclusive casting, and performers of all races, ethnicities, gender identities, body types, ages and abilities are encouraged to audition.
Roles available:
*[DATA] 20s-40s, to play 35, male-presenting, BARI-TENOR OR TENOR, A robotic android who hams it up onstage. It’s important to remember that he is the only real character who appears onstage (all other onstage characters are holographic simulations). So the closer he can look and sound to Brent Spiner’s original “Data,” the better. Also performs the following roles:
-KOBAYASHI MARU CAPTAIN: A posh British military officer barely keeping it together.
-JOACHIM: The son Khan never had. At first he may seem to be an unsophisticated dunderhead, but maybe he’s more clever than he looks and sounds.
-PETER PRESTON: Over-the-top cockney “Tiny Tim.” Cloyingly, aggressively adorable.
-DAVID: He’s a walking Shatner impersonation turned up to 11.
*[KIRK] 20s-50s, to play 50-55, BARI-TENOR to TENOR, A military space admiral with a fragile ego. The portrayal here can be a slightly exaggerated William Shatner, but not so intense that the characterization gets old.
*[KHAN] 20s-50s, to play 50-55, male-presenting, TENOR, A campy, scenery-chewing villain. This is not the Khan from the movie. Here, he can have fun with the audience. The actor must commit to Khan’s desires and plans just enough to preserve a sense of stakes, and perhaps menace.
*[SPOCK] 20s-50s, to play 50-55, BASS TO BARI-TENOR, A stoic half-human/half-alien with a touch of haughtiness, but his warmth and concern for others can be seen in subtle ways. Actor also portrays REDSHIRT: to play 35 (VOCAL RANGE FLEXIBLE), He may seem confident at first, but he’s ultimately a bit dopey and ends up being pretty cowardly.
*[SAAVIK] 20s-30s, female-presenting, to play 20, MEZZO OR SOPRANO, An awkward cadet/ingenue. Can be thought of as a high-strung musical theatre student who fully feels their feelings and craves the spotlight. Also fills in as a Khan Henchperson, and Spacelab crew member.
*[SULU] 20s-50s, to play 50, BARITONE (OR ALTO), TRADITIONALLY ASIAN, The ship’s pilot; professional yet flamboyant. Actor also portrays [CHEKOV] 20s-50s, to play 40, VOCAL RANGE FLEXIBLE, A dimwitted commander with a cartoonish Russian accent.
*[UHURA] 20s-50s, female-presenting, to play 45, MEZZO, TRADITIONALLY AFRICAN AMERICAN, A sardonic communications officer. She’s somewhat bored by this gig and sometimes acts as the voice of reason. Vocal riffing / gospel-style singing a plus. Actor also portrays [CAROL] to play 45, MEZZO-TO-SOPRANO FLEXIBLE, Kirk’s ex-girlfriend; tough yet warm. Also fills in as a Khan Henchperson.
*[BONES] 20s-50s, to play 60, RANGE FLEXIBLE (WRITTEN AS CONTRALTO-TO-MEZZO), A crotchety Southern doctor. Actor also portrays [SCOTTY] to play 50, MEZZO/ALTO FLEXIBLE, The ship’s engineer, Scottish accent. When the going gets tough, he takes his job very seriously and is good at it. Also fills in as a Khan Henchperson and a Spacelab crew member.
