Gunner Concannon – 70ish, blue collar guy of Irish descent. Retired trucking company owner in early stages of Dementia, but things are beginning to progress. Despite the illness, he is still vibrant and active, fishing on the dock of and puttering around his Chesapeake Bay summer (now permanent) home. Loyal, loud, occasionally politically incorrect. Deeply in love with his wife and his son, too, although he has never found an easy connection with him. Feels urgent need to make things right with his family before it is too late.
Peg Concannon – 70ish. Energetic, good-looking housewife who dedicates life to taking care of her family and home. Once had dreams of college and working as a school teacher but fate intervened. Patient woman of strong Catholic faith and moral values. Can hold her own with her husband, but the toll of being his caregiver and worry over his situation, and their futures, is wearying.
Jack Concannon – 50ish. The only son of Gunner and Peg. Going through divorce, having difficulty parenting his youngest son, and uncertain of what is next for him in life. Has a love of cooking and is in many ways an opposite of his father.
Ages are from the script, you don’t need to be right at these ages, we just need to be able to make you look these ages.
