Open audition: WHITE GUY ON THE BUS by Bruce Graham … While riding a bus, Shatique, a young, struggling African-American single mother, and Ray, a white, married, middle-aged wealthy financier, strike up an unlikely friendship. As the story progresses, the lives of the two, and their life-changing decisions, come into clear focus before our eyes. A morality tale and straight-out thriller, also a perceptive commentary on race and class in America. Masterfully penned by the noted area author. “… a play with guts. … this unusually frank drama has been gnawing away at me these last 24 hours. … so many plays want to blurt out some of the things that these characters say but don’t have the nerve. This one goes for the jugular.” — Chicago Tribune
