Johnson, will be held on Monday and Tuesday evenings, December 3 & 4. PLOT: There are these two brothers. They’re African-American. One is named Lincoln. The other is named Booth. Their father chose the names as a joke. But that joke has led to a lifetime of sibling rivalry, resentment, betrayal, and, yes… an undeniable sense of brotherly love. Haunted by their past, the brothers now confront the reality of their future in this darkly comic fable. Maybe the joke wasn’t so funny, after all.
Performances are Fridays and Saturdays, March 29 to April 13, at 8:00 P.M.
The Drama Group is an all-volunteer theatre company.
Lincoln: (30-40) Older brother of Booth. Very intelligent, a bit of a drinker, Lincoln temporarily lives with Booth after his wife Cookie leaves him. A former Three-Card Monte hustler, he decides to live an honest life as an Abraham Lincoln impersonator.
Booth: (25-35) Younger brother of Lincoln, Booth has a fiery temper. He wants to learn the trade of a Three-Card Monte dealer. A bit of a hustler himself, he wants to be the best and wants Lincoln to show him the ropes. (The role of Booth has already been cast.)
