Newtown Arts Company announces auditions for its August production of the delightful family musical Annie. Tuesday May 22 and Wednesday May 23 (6:30-9:30) at Crossing Community Church, 80 Silver Lake Rd, Newtown PA 18940, with callbacks on May 30 at Crossing Community Church.

At least 7 female orphans, age 6 and up will be cast; as well as as various male and female leads and ensemble parts for ages 16 and up. All roles are open. Ensemble will need to sing and move as well, and will play multiple roles. Auditioners should be prepared to sing a song from the show or another song that demonstrates vocal ability. Wear comfortable clothing which allows you to move easily. Bring sheet music. An accompanist will be provided for you. Bring photo, resume and audition form (from our website) complete with your conflicts.

Rehearsals begin in early June, 2-3 times per week, with some Saturday morning rehearsals. Based on the popular comic strip by Harold Gray, Annie has become a popular worldwide phenomenon and was the winner of 7 Tony Awards including Best Musical. Music by Thomas Meehan, Charles Strose and Martin Charnin.

Directed by Mary Liz Ivins and Amelia Arrigo Ball, Music Directed by Erik Meyer, Produced by Bonnie Dettra and Beverly Speer. Performances are August 2-8, with 2 matinees on Saturday at 2 and Sunday at 2 at the Newtown Theatre 120 N State St. Newtown PA. Appointments preferred, walk-ups are welcome. Visit for more info.
