This production will pay a stipend due to daytime, during the week performances for school children in the local area that travel to the theatre. A generous grant allows 1000 children to see this performance free of charge and delight in live theatre, an experience they may not normally have. Additionally, this grant enables a stipend to be paid to the actors who must make themselves available to perform during normal weekday work hours.

Rehearsals will be January 29 – March 29 approx. 2 times per week, and tech week will be in the evenings from April 2-6.

Performances are April 7, 8, 14 and 15 at 2 pm. As mentioned above, there will also be a few daytime weekday performances for elementary schools that will be traveling to the theatre. Those dates will be announced soon.

This is a wonderful outreach program that services under privileged kids from the local area. There will be approx. 5 daytime during the week performances, with the possibility of performing twice on the same day. This grant enables a stipend to be paid to actors to compensate their time for those daytime during the week performances.

The palace’s scrub boy who is outgoing and impulsive. He says the first thing that comes into his head.

Makes the “Magic” clothes for Marcus. He is a conniving, imaginative showman extremely skilled at his art of trickery.

The Royal Clothesmaker who is motherly, level-headed, bossy and nervous.

The Royal Advisor who is fatherly, and a little henpecked. He tries to be authoritative and responsible, but generally fails.

The Emperor and our story’s protagonist. He has a powerful imagination and is very intelligent, however he lacks self-confidence.

Patricia Bradford holds a Bachelor of Music Degree in Vocal Performance from the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston, Massachusetts. She has performed, directed and produced theatre throughout Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware. Ms. Bradford is founder and Managing Artistic Director of Bare Stage Theatre.
