PLAY SUMMARY: Maude has bought a painting for a few bucks from a thrift store. Despite almost trashing it, she’s now convinced it’s a lost masterpiece by Jackson Pollock worth millions. But when a world-class art expert arrives at her trailer home to authenticate the painting, he has no idea what is is about to discover about himself, art, culture, and humanity.

Maude: (late 40s-60) Lives in a mobile home in Bakersfield, CA. Unemployed bartender. Described as a “tough broad” by her ex-husband.

Lionel: (50s-60s) An art expert from NYC. Very full of himself, very cultured, very out of his element.

Strong ability to memorize lines a must!

PREPARATION: Please bring a prepared monologue from a published work. Comedic or dramatic is fine. Also, please be familiar with this scene from the play as you may be asked to perform it, as well, during the first round of auditions.

Sides will be provided for callbacks.

Please bring a copy of your headshot and resume, even if submitted electronically.
