Forge Theatre Announces Auditions For THE DIXIE SWIM CLUB

Directors Linda Mandlowitz and Nance Brown are pleased to announce audition dates for Forge Theatre’s upcoming production of the delightful dramedy THE DIXIE SWIM CLUB. Auditions will be held at Forge Theatre on Sunday, Nov. 5th, at 2 pm and Monday, Nov. 6, at 7 pm. Linda and Nance are looking for five strong middle-aged female actors to portray Sheree, Dinah, Lexi, Jeri, and Vernadette.

These Southern women, whose friendships began years ago on their college swim team, set aside one long weekend every August to rekindle their relationships. Actors must portray these women at the ages of forty-four, forty-nine, fifty-four, and seventy-seven. Auditions will include cold readings from the script.

Rehearsals will be Sundays at 2 pm, and Mondays and Wednesdays at 7 pm. Show dates are Feb. 23-24, March 2-3-4*, 9-10-11* (Sunday matinee at 2 pm), with possible snow dates March 16-17.
