DCP Theatre will be holding auditions for Miracle on 34th Street Monday, October 16th & Tuesday 17th at 7:30 pm.
This holiday show is based on the movie by 20th Century Fox and will be running December 1st – December 16th.

The classic Christmas story of Susan Walker, her mother Doris, and Kris Kringle, an old man in a retirement home who gets a job working as Santa for Macy’s. Kris creates a stir by referring parents to other stores to find exactly the toy their child has asked for. Seen as deluded and dangerous by a Macy’s counselor, Kris ends up in a court competency hearing. Fred Gaily, Doris’s new gentleman friend, must defend him in court and prove that he is Santa Claus.

Auditions will take place at DCP Theatre located at 795 Ridge Road, Telford, PA.
All positions are volunteer (non-union and non-paid).
No appointment is needed.
Auditions will be cold readings from the script.
Headshots and resume are appreciated but not required.
Please arrive 15 minutes early to sign in and complete paperwork.

-All actors,*Besides the Leads* should be prepared to play multiple roles.
-Children under 9 will not be cast.
-Elves are an intricate part of this production. They will be used before and throughout the show, and they will also be used as stage crew at certain points.

Characters:
Kris Kringle (M) Santa Clause (The Real Real Santa)

Doris Walker (W) Personnel Manager at Macy’s- Hard working, single mom, realist. Does everything for her daughter, worked extremely hard to rise through the ranks and gain the position she now holds at Macys. She got where she is by her own hard work and determination. Does not believe in magic, and highly discourages Susan from doing so.

Susan Walker (g) Young Girl (9-11), Daughter of Doris, loves and respects her mother very much, is very “old for her age”. She was raised to believe in reality, and hard work, not myth and fantasy. Does not believe in Santa.

Fred Gayley (M) Neighbor to Doris and Susan, works as a Lawyer, admires Doris greatly.

Doctor Pierce (M/F) Kris’ Physician (and friend) at Maplewood Home

Shellhammer (M/F) Doris’ personal Assistant, very organized and helpful

Mr. Macy (M) Owner and Manager of Macy’s Department Store

Sawyer (M/F) Macy’s Vocational Guidance Counselor (HR Department)

Mr. Bloomingdale (M) Owner and manager of Bloomingdales (Macy’s Biggest Competition)

Judge Harper (M/F) Judge presiding over Kris’ Case

Halloran (M/F) Judge Harper’s political campaign manager

Finley (M) Bailiff to the Court

Mara (M/F) Prosecuting Attorney

Patricia Bradford holds a Bachelor of Music Degree in Vocal Performance from the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston, Massachusetts. She has performed, directed and produced theatre throughout Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware. Ms. Bradford is founder and Managing Artistic Director of Bare Stage Theatre. Leading STAGE Magazine has become a consuming passion - one which combines her many artistic skills, theatrical contacts and administrative abilities.
