Directors Cindy Schneider and Kelley Stanford are looking to cast 8-14 talented cast members of a variety of ages to play numerous parts in The Laramie Project. This drama, written by Moises Kauffman and members of the Tectonic Theatre Project members and draws about the reaction of Laramie residents to the murder of gay University of Wyoming student Matthew Shepard in 1998. This murder was considered a hate crime and drew national attention. Theatre members traveled to Laramie, Wyoming to interview the residents, and the play is drawn from those interviews. This is an ensemble show in which each actor will remain on the stage throughout the show, and will have the opportunity to explore several different characters.
Auditions will consist of cold readings and some improvisation exercises.
