In this prequel to Peter Pan, a young orphan is being shipped off to a distant island to be a slave to an evil king. When he is discovered by a young girl named Molly, a Starcatcher-in-training whose mission is to protect a mysterious trunk full of “starstuff,” they embark on a fantastic and magical adventure to save the trunk from pirates, including the fearsome (and flamboyant) Black Stache. This heartwarming and hilarious script tells the story of how this once-nameless orphan learned to fly above the grownups that treated him so poorly and became the Boy Who Wouldn’t Grow Up.

Audition Dates:
Sunday March 12, 2017 at 7:00 pm
Tuesday March 14, 2017 at 7:00 pm

You only need to attend one of the above audition sessions in order to be considered. No appointments are necessary. You should plan to spend about 2 to 3 hours at the theater for auditions (perhaps a little more or less, depending on turnout).
For auditions, we are asking each actor to tell us a story. It can be a story about you, a story you made up, or a fairytale (but please use your own words). The story should be 1 to 2 minutes long. Your story should be dynamic, energetic, and engaging. You may bring a prop or two with you if you like – using something ordinary in an unconventional/unexpected way is encouraged. You should also be prepared to play an improv game and to sing a simple, well-known song (like Happy Birthday or Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star – we will give you the song to sing at auditions). We will also have cold readings from the script.
If you have any questions about auditions, you may e-mail the director at douglas.schultz@me.com
There are 12 roles total. For a list of character descriptions, please see our website. All auditioners should be at least 18 years old. We are open to consider non-traditional gender casting.

Please Note: Most of the actors will need to speak in a British accent.

Rehearsals for Peter and the Starcatcher will be on Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday evenings from March through May. Show dates are Friday and Saturday nights at 8pm on June 2, 3, 9, 10, 16, and 17. There will also be two Sunday matinees on June 4 and 11. Please bring a list of any conflicts you may have to auditions.
