Flying High With PETER PAN at MCT

Soar into summer with MCT’s latest production, PETER PAN. This high-flying TONY Award-winning musical opens Friday, July 15 at Perkiomen Valley Middle School East, Collegeville, PA 19426. Based on J.M. Barrie’s classic tale, PETER PAN features an unforgettable score by Morris Charlap and Jule Styne with lyrics by Carolyn Leigh, Betty Comden, and Adolph Green. MCT has engaged Flying By Foy, the most prolific theatrical flying service in the world, to bring the magic of flight to this spectacular production.

MCT’s PETER PAN features Rebecca Kelley (Philadelphia) as Peter Pan, and Dustin Lee Yenser (Philadelphia) as both Mr. Darling and the dastardly Captain Hook. Katie McCool (Philadelphia) portrays Mrs. Darling, and appears as Grown Up Wendy at the close of the show. The Darling children are played by Deanna Drennen (Devon) as Wendy, Robert Lewis (Schwenksville) as John and Sam Heft (Wynnewood) as Michael. Nana, the Darlings’ Newfoundland nursemaid, is brought to life by Ross Klinger (Willow Grove) who also appears as the terrifying Crocodile. Charlotte Kalilec (Radnor) portrays Tiger Lily, the brave and strong leader of a mysterious Indian tribe, and Gary Bullock (Havertown) plays Smee, Captain Hook’s bumbling right hand man. A talented ensemble of scurvy pirates, rowdy Lost Boys and dancing Indians rounds out the cast.

PETER PAN is under the direction of Evan McElhiney (Phoenixville), assisted by Becca Schiel (Conshohocken). Cristy Chory (Paoli) provides the choral direction, Vince Rostkowski (Allentown) directs the orchestra and the show’s choreographer is Sally Rothschild (Wayne). Heather Bernard (Phoenixville), Barbara Cross (Collegeville) and Kate McShane (Worcester) are the show’s producers. The set designer and construction lead is John Cross (Collegeville) with Emily Hromada (Wayne) as set decorator. Mike Addice (Harleysville) is the show’s lighting designer and the sound design is under the direction of Ryan Kadwill (Skippack). Sue Carney (Pottstown) leads costume design and Harvey Perelman (Huntington Valley) is the show’s the stage manager. Props mistress is Ilene Perelman (Huntington Valley) and the show’s makeup artist is Julie Kruk (Audubon).

Evening shows are July 15, 16, 21, 22, and 23 at 7:30 pm. Matinees are on July 16 and 23 at 2:00 pm. All shows take place at Perkiomen Valley Middle School East, located on 100 Kagey Road, Collegeville, PA 19426. The school is handicap accessible with an ample parking lot.
