MOON OVER BUFFALO at Town and Country Players

by Patricia Bradford

Town and Country Players (T&C), a community theater group based in Buckingham, PA, will be presenting the stage comedy MOON OVER BUFFALO by Ken Ludwig. The play originally opened on Broadway in 1995, and marked the return of Carol Burnett to the Broadway stage after a 30-year absence. T&C’s production features the real-life husband and wife team of Pat and Peg Walsh playing George and Charlotte Hay, fading stars of the 1950’s. The play centers on the antics that ensue when George and Charlotte receive word that they may have “one last shot” at stardom. Frank Capra is coming to town to see their matinee, and if he likes what he sees, he might cast them in his next big production. Unfortunately for George and Charlotte, everything that can go wrong does. The comedic frenzy includes family mix-ups and their uncertainty of which show they are performing. Directed by Sharon Rill-Soester and produced by Vincenzo Russo, the play’s show times are 8:00 pm on Friday and Saturday evenings June 10, 11, 17, 18, 24 & 25 and at 2:00 pm on Sunday afternoons, June 12 & 19. Tickets are $17 and may be purchased through the Town and Country Players website, www.townandcountryplayers.org.
