Old Academy Players presents the Award-winning Dramatic Comedy: 4,000 MILES

Old Academy Players presents the award-winning dramatic comedy 4,000 MILES by Amy Herzog and directed by Charlotte Higgins November 6-22, 2015. The NY York Times affirmed, “Plays as truthful and touching and fine as Amy Herzog’s 4000 MILES come along once or maybe twice a season, if we’re lucky.”

The synopsis from play publisher Samuel French states, “After suffering a major loss while on a cross-country bike trip, 21-year-old Leo seeks solace from his feisty 91-year-old grandmother Vera in her West Village apartment. Over the course of a single month, these unlikely roommates infuriate, bewilder, and ultimately reach each other.” Produced by Terri Bateman and Vail Gualtieri, 4000 MILES looks at how these two lost souls on opposite ends of the generation gap can possibly make a meaningful connection, and not drive each other crazy in the process.

Find out in this funny, moving, inspirational comedy, winner of the 2012 Obie Award for Best New American Play and finalist for the 2013 Pulitzer Prize for Drama. The stellar cast includes Loretta Lucy Miller as Vera, Thomas Boland as Leo, Rachel Diamond as Bec, and Kamie Evelyn Muroyd as Amanda.
