Facetime Theatre Cuts Loose with FOOTLOOSE

by Patricia Bradford

Facetime Theatre will be rocking the Kaleidoscope Performing Arts Center at Ursinus College with the high-energy dance musical, FOOTLOOSE, opening Friday May 29 and playing through Saturday June 6.

Inspired by the 1984 hit movie starring Kevin Bacon, FOOTLOOSE tells the story of a young man who moves from the big city to a small town where rock music and dancing have been banned. Ren challenges the local edicts, wins the heart of the preacher’s daughter, and changes things forever in little Bomont, Texas.

FOOTLOOSE moves to the rockin’ rhythm of its Oscar- and Tony-nominated top 40 score, including “Let’s Hear It for the Boy,” “Almost Paradise,” “Holding Out for a Hero,” and the title song, “Footloose.”

The stage adaptation by Dean Pitchford and Walter Bobbie features music by Tom Snow and lyrics by Pitchford. It’s based on the original screenplay by Pitchford, with additional music by Eric Carmen, Sammy Hagar, Kenny Loggins and Jim Steinman.

So cut loose and come see Facetime’s FOOTLOOSE at the Lenfest Theatre in the Kaleidoscope Performing Arts Center at Ursinus College, 601 East Main Street, Collegeville, PA 19426.
